johnny depp guitar

This is the guitar we made for Johnny Depp in pursuit of getting him to read the Haylar Garcia screenplay about the up, down, and up again life story of Scott Baxendale. This guitar, and getting it to him, have become the subject of a documentary entitled "Do It For Johnny". It is an original Baxendale design and has elements of a vintage '62 Fender Telecaster Custom and the 50's Danelectro. It has a swamp ash body, curly maple top, ivroid binding, curly maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. There is an inlay in the headstock designed by Haylar that spells "depp" with an arrow passing through it which is distinctive, yet subtle. The inlay was made from ebony and mother of pearl.
