drive-by truckers guitars

Over the last three years the Colfax Guitar Shop has developed an ongoing relationship with the Drive-By Truckers. When we first met the Truckers they were very appreciative of the emergency repairs that we did for them at one of their first Bluebird shows. From that time forward we haven’t missed a Denver/Boulder show. After Cooley got his first Baxendale electric we began talking about building the guys some acoustic guitars. So as they began laying the tracks for “A Blessing and a Curse” we shipped 5 of our guitars to their studio and by noon the next day they had laid several guitar tracks. All five of our guitars were eventually used on the album. Check out “Gravity is Gone” or “Space Cowboy” to hear our acoustics in action. Last August, at their Red Rocks show, Patterson Hood picked up his new Baxendale and Baxendale Harwood style made out of Koa wood. He told me recently that he has already written over 30 new songs on it. He also said that the amazing sound of this guitar inspires him every day. Click HERE to visit the Drive-By Truckers website.
